involvement in the First World War. Performing at places such as the Arc
de Triumph and Mennin Gate in Belgium plus touring and playing through out
the battle fields of Flanders.
Favourite Drink: Guinness
and Tooheys Old (a compulsory drink of the drum corps)
Most Embarrassing Band Moment: Stumbling

huge session on the Guinness with our Pipe Major only to discover the next
day that the lights were on. (Maybe I should have opened my eyes !!!)
Favourite Band: Shotts

Favourite Tune: Most
Jigs and Hornpipes
Favourite Food: Any

Favourite Colour: Blue

What I like most about playing for the Miners: The
efforts of all players to improve and strive to be a force in the contest
arena, along with the strong bond between all not only as a band but socially
as well.
How
would you improve the pipe band scene: There is a need
for more events for solo drummers. More people would be involved if they
were going to get more than 1 play on the day. As you know pipers have at
least 4 events they can play in and twice as many if they play up a grade.
